Vincent Zambrano

Vincent Zambrano was born in Manta, Ecuador. It is where he became interested in visual impressions and the art of creating them. Zambrano grew up in Queens, New York. He studied fine arts in the Fashion Institute of Technology with the goal to become a painter. Through many years of painting he experimented with different styles and subject matters challenging himself and the viewers. He now works across the media of painting, film, photography and sculpture. Zambrano's work is very intense. empowering, evoking different emotions in us.

Zambrano continued his studies at The School of Visual Arts to widen his creative talent as film director. For him, painting and film making is very much the same, just different mediums. It's an extension of his views, provoked by his own experiences, family, politics, religion and culture.

Throughout the years Zambrano has exhibited his paintings in several group shows, such as the Contemporanea! University of Connecticut and Hutchins Gallery, C.W. Campus Long Island, Miami Dade College, Fl. Much of his work is also in private collections.In 2002 he began working on his first film "La Arana" which was accepted in the HBO International New York Film Festival. He then wrote and directed "The Heart of a Broken Tale" which was accepted at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. In 2008 he completed the feature film "Shadow Boxing". His most recent film, "The Moment I Died" with Otto Sanchez as the lead, is currently in the film festival circuit.

For all projects Zambrano uses his own funding, bringing all his vision to fruition.
